Another great day by the bay!

Hello - Today was another beautiful day by the bay.  Jamey and I went for a 3 hour walk from here to Sable Falls and back.  We walked through Woodland Park, down the steps at First Creek and headed West.  It was colder and windier than I expected - the temperature here said 40 degrees, but the wind chill was much colder!  We walked to the "teepee", went in to try to get a little shelter, but it wasn't any better than outside of it!  A short distance farther we made it to the mouth of the Sable.  There was much less ice today, but the waves were crashing and the water was raging.  Here are a couple of pictures taken on the beach between Woodland Park and Sable Falls:
On this photo you can see the light house on the point.
Here's an iceberg that broke off - the waves were crashing here, but we were not able to capture it on camera.
You can see the "teepee" on the left of this picture.
This was taken near the bottom of the Falls - I thought it kind of looked like a heart!
Here's Jamey at the Falls - the trees formed a cross in the background - we did not realize this until we were home and looked at the pictures.  Cool, eh?

Here I am at the falls.
We took this near the top of the stairs - great perspective!
When we were about 1/3 of the way up to the top, we stopped for a moment and we saw a bald eagle leave its roost and it soared down towards Lake Superior -it was about 30 feet away from us!  What an incredible sight!  We walked to the top of the stairs, still kind of icy, and then walked back to Grand Marais on H-58. After we got home the sun came out and the lake was an awesome shade of blue.  Here is a picture taken from our deck, as you can see, most of the ice that was in the bay has melted.
